So, I am finally getting my website launched! I can't tell you how excited I am about this ACTUALLY happening! It only took 10 months for me to finally sign off on it and get it published and accessible on the world wide web!
So, you're probably wondering what I have to say, and what I do that made me start a website. Well, right now, I'm kind of at a loss for words so I'll just give you my background as a good starter.
I recently graduated from University in San Jose where I studied Nutrition, and Dietetics. I am currently applying for internships through San Jose State University with the goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist within the year.
You are probably wondering, (if you don't know already...) "what the heck is so special about a Dietitian that made someone like Nani spend 6 years trying to become one?" Let me tell you! You all have probably heard of a "Nutritionist" right? They are people who you ask questions about what you eat, how to lose weight, how to be healthy. Dietitians do all of that, but they have gone through special schooling that has been approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (A.N.D. see eatright.org for more information) have to obtain an internship, and take an exam to prove they are worthy of the title "dietitian". Only those who meet all of the requirements get to call themselves a Dietitian. Now, I'm not quite there yet, but I am a candidate.
So, besides being on the road to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) what else could have prompted me to start a website you ask? The answer to that is simple: I am also a photographer. I needed a place to house my portfolio, and show (not just tell) people about what I do. And I have a big dream. My dream is to combine my two loves: Nutrition and Photography in one place, for each person that I get to have the opportunity to work with (click here to read more about me).
So, this blog is going to be all about my life, my goals, how I cook, what I cook with my kids, recipes, fun facts, and inspiring stories that I would like to share.
I'm so glad you found my website! Please feel free to leave comments, questions or email me for more information.
